What if it were a desserted island?
Complete and Total Bisch: Reading is Fun, Duh, Mental:
"Who are you going to pass this stick to (3 persons) and why? Forget just three, it's gotta be all of You. If you have a link on this blog, you must do this. So let it be written, so let it be done."
You're stuck inside Fahrenheit 451. Which book do you want to be?
Fahrenheit 451 - for a little mise en abime. Actually, Ulysses - which has had a tough enough time on its own. Now I haven't actually finished this book - but I still think it's very important.
Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character?
What sort of sick freak do you take me for?!? Just kidding, but the answer is still no.
The last book you bought is?
Guns, Germs, and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies by Jared Diamond
What are you currently reading?
See above. But that seems rather unfair, so the book previous to that was A Million Little Pieces by James Frey, which was excellent and recommended by Katie.
Five books you would take to a deserted island
The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar by Roald Dahl. Plus you get six more. Seriously, Roald Dahl is wonderful - and it would be a toss-up between Henry Sugar, a collection of his short stories and My Uncle Oswald.
A Short History of Nearly Everything* by Bill Bryson. "From primordial nothingness to this very moment, A Short History of Nearly Everything reports what happened and how humans figured it out." Bill Bryson is both humorous and engaging with what is often assumed to be boring subjects to read about: history and science.
Ulysses, by James Joyce. Because maybe I'd then have the time to sit down and figure it out. While this may be cheating, I'd also need a guide to go with it.
The Power of One by Bryce Courtenay. If you don't know why I chose it, you should read it.
The Brothers K by David James Duncan. For some baseball americana.
Who are you going to pass this stick to (3 persons) and why?
Anyone who happens to stop by. Though I'm not so sure that's more than three people.
Later.
