Power Alley/Ruelle de Puissance
ESPN.com - MLB - MLB Power Alley:
"Don't be surprised if the 'Spos catch the Mets and escape the NL East basement by the end of the season. (One last-place vote.)"
Of course, the Mets whomped the Expos last night, 10-1.
Though I do have a soft spot for Al Leiter who has "allowed three hits and one run in six innings, improving to 6-1 in his last 10 starts. Leiter has a 2.18 ERA, and 1.00 in three starts against Montreal this season, allowing just two runs in 18 innings." Or in other words, been an Expo-killer.
The good news of it all: "Despite the loss, the Expos split the four-game series to finish a 5-2 homestand in front of the biggest crowd -- drawn by a discount tickets and hot dogs promotion -- since 30,112 attended the team's Montreal opener on April 23." They're winning, they're selling tickets (and hot dogs), they're coming out of the cellar.
Watch out Montreal... I mean D.C.... I mean Northern Virginia....
Actually, how about they just play out the rest of year for Montreal?
Later.
